The person behind Iron Walker Studios

Mike Butz

Game development, practical AI-assisted work, and the judgment that connects them.

Making the next step concrete.

I’m Mike Butz, the person behind Iron Walker Studios. I’m developing Unproven and exploring how AI-assisted tools can help turn an idea into software that can be inspected, tested and improved.

My background is in claims operations, including disability and leave administration. Working with complex cases taught me to define requirements, keep records useful, manage concurrent decisions and make the reason for an outcome clear.

A career transition, shown through the work.

I’m pursuing full-time work where those skills and my growing software-development practice are useful. The case studies here show how I set direction, use coding agents, review evidence and respond when the result falls short.

I’m candid about the boundary of that experience. I’m not presenting these prototypes as shipped commercial games, measured business outcomes or formal programming credentials.

What the studio is doing now.

Unproven’s larger production is paused while I pursue full-time work. Its design and implemented foundations remain part of the studio’s story. The separate browser RPG offers a smaller, playable place to evaluate mechanics and learn from direct use.
